How we handle roof cleaning in St. Petersburg

The black streaks on so many St. Petersburg roofs are algae, not dirt. On asphalt shingles it can feed on the limestone filler, and it keeps spreading in humid weather. We treat it with a soft-wash application — never high pressure — on shingle and tile roofs.

What’s included

  • Asphalt shingle roofs
  • Barrel-tile and Spanish-tile roofs
  • Flat concrete tile
  • Low-pressure soft wash only

How we work

Every job starts with a walk-through so we agree on scope, and ends with a final walk-through and before-and-after photos. Read the full process on our roof cleaning page.

Questions

Why do some streaks fade after the cleaning instead of disappearing immediately?

The treatment kills the algae, but heavy, older growth can take some rain to rinse completely off the roof. Gradual fading over the following days or weeks is normal.

Will you need to walk on my roof?

It depends on the roof’s pitch, size and material. We’ll tell you how we plan to reach it when we look at the job.
